Two days after Little Falls senior Jordan Petrone captured a trip to state in the pole vault, senior Travis Spillum and junior Rachelle LeBlanc clinched state berths alongside him at the second day of the Section 8AA track meet in Sartell, Friday.
Spillum placed second in the boys high jump with a height of 6-feet, 3-inches, while LeBlanc finished as the runner-up in the girls pole vault by clearing 10-feet, 5-inches.
The Little Falls boys finished seventh overall as a team in the meet, with the Flyers girls taking 12th.
Seniors Isaiah Korver and Robert Reller each cleared 6-feet, 1-inch in the high jump in the Flyers’ top event, with Korver taking third and Reller placing sixth based on attempts cleared.
Also delivering top finishes in the final day of the meet were junior Tim Infinger in fourth in the 400 (50.58), junior Sebastian Sowada in fourth in the 1,600 (4:36.44), senior Garrett Horejsi in fifth in the 300 hurdles (41.02), junior Mathew Massmann in sixth in the 1,600 (4:39.58), the seventh-place 4×400 relay team of Horejsi, Petrone, junior Blake Toso and Infinger (3:35.25) and the eighth-place 4×800 relay team of junior Cameron Smith, senior Adam Maleski, freshman Daniel Palmer and senior Alexander Kresha (9:00.43).
Other top performances on the girls side included senior Emily Stark in fifth in the shot put (34-feet, 7.5-inches), junior Maria Hauer in sixth in the 800 (2:26.56), senior Mattia Hendrickson in seventh in the 1,600 (5:27.96), junior Katie Yorek in eighth in the shot put (33-feet, 7-inches), Hauer in eighth in the 1,600 (5:28.19), freshman Melanie Dorn in ninth in the 400 (1:05.96), the ninth-place 4×100 relay team of seniors Trista Saulter, Kallie Baumgartner, Chelsea Rutz and Stark (52.32) and the ninth-place 4×800 relay team of junior Laura Moe, sophomore Heidi Moe, freshman Amelia Kresha and eighth-grader Kendal Hendrickson (10:37.55).
The state meet was scheduled to be held at Hamline University in St. Paul, Friday – Saturday, June 7 – 8.
