Lloyd J. Brattlund, 89

obit-Brattlund-LloydLloyd J. Brattlund, a resident of Pillager, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Brainerd.

Services were held Tuesday, June 4, at First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Pastor Hector Merced officiating. Burial was in the Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager with military honors provided by American Legion Post 255 Color Guard.

Lloyd was born May 11, 1924, in Pillager to Elise and John Brattlund. He married Charlotte Swaim, Sept. 24, 1949, in Brainerd. He served in the U.S. Army. Lloyd was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Pillager. Other memberships include the Lions, the American Legion, Masonic Lodge and Moose Lodge. In addition, he served on the Pillager School Board for 21 years. Lloyd worked for the Minnesota State Highway Department, C. L. Nelson, Thorson Inc., and Anderson Brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; sons, John (Susan) grandchildren, Elise and Erik; David (Herbie) grandchildren, Alisha (Kyle) Borders and Chase; grandson, Jason (Jessie) Borgstrom; sisters, Delphie Boyd and Florence Vomhof. He is also survived by his special dog, Floyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharol; daughter-in-law, Brenda; brother, Chester and sister, Austrid Madden.
