Six arrested, three sought, in connection with drug investigation in Staples

Six individuals were arrested Wednesday, in connection with a nine-month investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the Staples area. Law enforcement continues to seek the whereabouts of three other individuals involved that arrest warrants have been issued for.

Agents of the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force (CMVOTF), Brainerd Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division (LADID), along with members of the Staples Police Department, Todd County and Wadena County Sheriff’s Office, executive three search warrants in the 200 block of Dakota Avenue Southeast and Wisconsin Avenue Southeast in Staples. One search warrant was also executed in section nine of Villard Township, Todd County.

The six individuals arrested included Thomas Jacob Brown, 42; Jennifer Faye Paul, 28; Raymond Earl Weekley, 40; Stewart Edward Weekley, 48; Alexander James Miller, 26; and Clinton Dennis McNamara, 22.

The nine-month investigation into the sale of methamphetamine was conducted by the CMVOTF, Staples Police Department and the Todd County Sheriff’s office, with the assistance of the LADID, the Wadena County, Crow Wing County, Morrison County and Cass County Sheriff’s Offices, as well as the Wadena Police Department.

Based information gathered during the course of the investigation, seven arrest warrants were obtained for the sales of methamphetamine from the Todd County and Wadena County Attorney’s Offices. Officer arrested another two individuals for probable cause possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and a third person for felony possession of a controlled substance in Staples. Wadena County deputies arrested a person named in one of the arrest warrants in rural Menahga.
