The Swanville City Council continues to seek a resident who would be interested in filling the Council seat left vacant with the death, earlier this year, of longtime Council Member Jim Pierkarski. The Council will seek names of interested residents of the city to fill the position for two years.
Those interested must live within the city and be at least 18 years of age.
The Council will appoint, from the applicants, someone to fill the position until the next regular election. At that time, if the appointee is interested in remaining on the Council, they file to have their name on the ballot.
Those interested should contact the city clerk, mayor or council members for more information.
