The long-awaited zebra at home in LF

ZebraThursday, several members of the community who worked to raise funds for a zebra at the Pine Grove Zoo, were treated to a first glimpse of the 3-week-old male zebra. Zoo Director Marnita Van Hoecke said the little guy is still getting used to his environment, and walked him around carefully. “He is a horse with an attitude,” Van Hoecke said. “He’s quick to kick and gets scared pretty easily.” He has not been named yet, and made his public debut at the Zoo’s 100th anniversary celebration Saturday, June 8. He will be joined by a young female zebra in a few weeks. Those in attendance said he was “adorable.”
