obit---Rasumssen,-John2John Rasmussen, a resident of Little Falls, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life was held Monday, June 10, at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls,.

John P. Rasmussen was born May 30, 1942, in Siren, Wis., to the late Jens and Beatrice (Melquist) Rasmussen. He attended Siren High School and graduated with the class of 1960. He attended Wisconsin State College where he was active in the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He received his bachelor of science degree. He worked for Little Falls Plumbing and Heating in Little Falls for 27 years. He was united in marriage to Mary “Kim” McGuire, Sept. 29, 1989, in Little Falls. The couple made their home in Little Falls. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. He participated in bowling leagues. John enjoyed watching the Vikings and the Green Bay Packers. He was a man of few words but could “BS” with the best of them.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim Rasmussen of Little Falls; children, Nicholas Rasmussen of St. Cloud, Mary (Erik) Warner of Little Falls, John T. (Mary Stark) Rasmussen of Portland, Ore., Judith (Mike) Cowan of Swan River, Amy (Andy) Staudinger of Rice and Jamie (Jeremy) Udy of Little Falls; brother, Richard Rasmussen of Superior, Wis.; grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, Sebastian Warner; Kaija and LaRae Karjala; Mike and Rachel Cowan; Tyler and Trystan Scheerle; Lane Staudinger; Rayna and Rhyis Udy; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Gabriel, Karmyndi Cowan and Ryker Karjala; and his loving four-legged companion, Gizmo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Ingalls; and a brother, Vernon Rasmussen.
