Fort Ripley ATV trail signs vandalized and stolen The Crow Wing County Land Services Department is asking for help from the public in locating the person or persons responsible for the theft and vandalism of recently installed Grant-in-Aid ATV signs and sign posts.
The Ft. Ripley ATV club has recently installed the trail signs on County Roads 2, 45 and 139 in Ft. Ripley, St. Mathias and Daggett Brook Townships. Volunteers from the ATV club noted the signs were removed and others damaged during this past weekend between Friday June 7 and Sunday, June 9. Damage or theft of state funded signs has a penalty of up to $700.
Land Services Supervisor, Kirk Titus stated, “Acts of theft or vandalism on County approved trails will not be tolerated. We ask all citizens to help us and the local ATV clubs by reporting any facts that will help us apprehend the perpetrators so the trails can be well marked and provide for a safe ride for trail users.”
