Carlos Antonio Hobson, 49, St. Cloud, was charged in the Morrison County District Court, with two felony counts of domestic assault.
Little Falls police officers were dispatched to a residence on Buck Lane June 9 due to a report of a domestic assault.
The officers knocked on the door and Hobson answered. When asked to step out of the residence, a woman, the victim, who was visibly crying and upset also came out.
The victim told one officer when Hobson came home, she believed he had been drinking and an argument ensued. She allegedly said Hobson pulled her hair, tried to throw her down the stairs and choked her. According to the victim’s statement, she said Hobson also forced her head down in a pillow and held her there. She said she told Hobson she couldn’t breathe and he then put his arm around her neck and she said she was choking.
Allegedly, Hobson was calling her names and swearing at her during the assault.
The victim is currently pregnant with twins and was concerned for their unborn children.
Officers observed a lump above the victim’s right eye which she said occurred when she bumped her head on a shelf.
Hobson allegedly said that the victim was crazy and denied the argument became physical.
Hobson was arrested and taken to jail. A check of his prior record indicated he was convicted April 5 in Stearns County of two counts of making terroristic threats.
If convicted, Hobson faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine
