Delbert Chapman, 89

Obit-ChapmanDelbert H. Chapman,  of Faribault, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Faribault, Monday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Craig Breimhorst officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Central Veterans Association. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Wells. Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, Sunday, June 30, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the services on Monday.

Delbert H., the son of William and Amelia (Thompson) Chapman, was born May 11, 1924, in Royalton. He married Suzanne Nixon, Aug. 21, 1947, in Wells. She preceded him in death March 21, 2009. He was a farmer, real estate agent and a cabinet builder. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed camping and was a great story writer.

He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Chapman of Faribault, Deb Freeman of Warsaw and Pam Chapman of Faribault; four grandchildren, Mandy, Caleb, Jacob and Eric; seven great- grandchildren; one brother, Bill Chapman of Freeport, Ill.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; and three sisters, Helen Jones, Meta “Mitzi” Rolf and Geneva Johnson.
