Legion Baseball: Little Falls edges Elk River in eight

Bryce Zawatzke doubled in Collin Eckman with the winning run as the Little Falls Legion baseball team edged host Elk River 4-3 in eight innings, Monday.

Josh Wenzel earned the win in relief, striking out seven batters in 3 1/3 innings, including fanning the side in the bottom of the eighth.

Zawatzke finished 2-for-4 and Nathan Masog and Matt Stumpf also drove home runs.

 

Sauk Rapids 3, Little Falls 1

Gabe Ploof struck out eight in a complete-game effort, but Sauk Rapids knocked off visiting Little Falls 3-1, Tuesday.

Ploof also drove in Dane Peterson to plate Little Falls’ lone run.
