Pierz man charged with receiving stolen property, a felony

On June 17, the Morrison County District Courts charged Randall Francis Renner, 46, Pierz, with one felony county of receiving stolen property.

A report of a burglary at All Season’s Storage was received at the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office April 6. The victim had been informed by the owner that the lock to his unit was missing and when he investigated, he found his Crestliner boat and trailer were missing.

The boat and trailer were valued at approximately $8,500.

On June 11, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received information that Renner allegedly had stolen property at his residence in Morrill Township and that a Crestliner boat, motor and other fishing equipment were part of that stolen property.

The boat’s description appeared to match that of the boat stolen in April.

Arriving at Renner’s residence, an officer observed a boat which appeared to match the description of the one stolen.

A search warrant was executed at Renner’s property and the boat was confirmed to be the one stolen from the storage unit. It appeared as though someone had tried to remove the registration decals.

A further search located fishing and camping gear, including 14 tackle boxes, about 24 fishing rods and other gear.

If convicted, Renner faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
