Irvin A. Lust, passed away June 29, 2013, after his battle with cancer.
Services were held July 3 at the Church of St. Timothy, Blaine.
He was born Feb.13, 1941, to Clarence and Leonilla (Schraut) Lust in Hillman Township, Morrison County. He was raised in the Pierz area attending school in Pierz and Little Falls. He grew up on the family farm in Morrison County and eventually took over the farm, until his marriage to Mary Shanahan April 22, 1967. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Church since 1971. He attended the TEC (Together Encountering Christ) Program in Belle Prairie. He became very active with the program, donating several hundred new chairs and working closely with Fr. Reiser for several years. He worked for 3M for several years. He then began to work for Precision Electric in Minneapolis and eventually became part owner until his partner’s death. He then took over full ownership until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and visiting with his endless number of friends. He was a key member in the community of Blaine. He was an active member of the coaching team, both in the Blaine School system and the Blaine city teams. He was on the original board of the Blaine Athletic Association and was instrumental in building the Fogerty Arena. The Arena was built with all volunteers and Irvin was responsible for contacting suppliers for building material donations.
He is survived by his wife Mary; son Jeffrey and fiancé Kathy Schroeder and Chris (Michel) Johnson and granddaughters, Amanda and Bailey; grandsons, Michel, Ryan and Dillon; sister Gloria Lust of Little Falls, and brother, Alvin (Carolyn) Lust and sons, Randy and Arlen Schultz and their families of Chisago City, and many loving friends who will always be near and dear to his heart.
