The Little Falls Chamber of Commerce has named Nathan Becker, a technician with RadioShack/Design Electronics, the July 2013 Employee of the Month. RadioShack’s owner Steve Andres said, “Nathan is an excellent employee. He is extremely dedicated to our customers and always provides the highest level of quality support we expect.” Becker is one of two technicians currently employed by the Andres’ eight RadioShack stores. His job consists of installing satellite systems, car and boat audio systems, home theaters, security systems and appliances. He also repairs all of the above. Not formally trained as a technician, Becker comes by his talents naturally. He said it all started when he was 9 years old and his father gave him a broken stereo. “I fixed it, then modified it to fit my specifications,” he said.
“Since it’s just Eric Andres and me who are the company’s technicians, with another currently being trained in the Morris store, I can travel to Alexandria, Fergus Falls or to Milbank, S.D.,” he said. Becker, who has worked for RadioShack for six years, said he loves his job, mostly because he meets so many people. “When I go to a home, it could be anything from a mansion to a trailer house, but the end result is the same and that’s having a satisfied customer,” he said. “Many of my customers are amazed at how fast and how well I can fix or install their product; they are very grateful. I just tell them that I probably couldn’t do what they do for a living.” Becker and his wife Stacy have been married for one year and have a blended family consisting of Shelby, 10; Hailey, 7; and Bradley, 6. In their free time, the Becker family loves all water sports, fishing, biking and the Pine Grove Zoo. The children are involved in swimming and baseball. When Becker and his wife are able to get away alone together, they love to go to concerts or to a Twins game. “It is an honor to have been chosen as the Chamber of Commerce Employee of the Month,” said Becker. For being named the Employee of the Month, Becker received gift certificates from Broadway Stylists, Falls Floral and the West Side Bar. He also had his photo taken by Silker Studio and received a cookbook from St. Gabriel’s Hospital Hospice Program.
