Baxter man arrested for fraud and possession of a controlled substance

Mark Edward Holm, 49, Baxter, was charged June 28 in the Morrison County District Court, with one felony count each of fraud, using a financial card without consent and fifth degree possession of a controlled substance.

On the morning of June 27, the Little Falls Police received a report of a credit card which had been stolen the previous day and used  twice ($644.14) in Little Falls.

The victim cancelled the card that same morning.

Police viewed surveillance videos from where the credit card had been used and identified Holm as the person using the card.

That evening, the same store contacted police saying Holm had returned. Law enforcement was able to arrest him at that time.

When Holm asked the police to get his cellphone from his vehicle, the officer found a methamphetamine pipe near the phone.

A person accompanying Holm told police the two had smoked methamphetamine together that day.

If convicted, Holm faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
