A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Richard Golombiecki was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Flensburg, to the late Peter and Sophie (Peschel) Golombiecki. He grew up in Flensburg, where he attended grade school. Richard enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for two years. Richard purchased his farm at the age of 21, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, where he resided until the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Agnes Bartkowitz, Feb. 9, 1959, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. The couple made their home and farmed in Swan River Township for 54 years. He enjoyed smelting, deer hunting, moose hunting, elk hunting, salmon fishing in the state of Washington and raising calves and white tail deer for 21 years on the family’s farm. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, Knights of Columbus and the Flensburg Fire Department for 40 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Agnes Golombiecki of Little Falls; children, John (Michelle) Golombiecki of Little Falls, Jeff (Stacie) Golombiecki of Bigelow, Jeanne (Scott) Bartkowicz of Swanville and Jackie (Wayne) Kroll of Little Falls; siblings, Jerry (Edna) Golombiecki of Little Falls and Leona Kedrowski of Waseca; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sophie Golombiecki; siblings, Ray, Peter and Joe Golombiecki, Rosie Kedrowski, Pauline Koval and an infant sister.
