Motorists travelling on Highway 10, County Road 21/25th Avenue Northwest and County Road 31/South Division Street in Rice will encounter lane, road and ramp closures, flaggers and possible delays beginning Tuesday and Wednesday, July 29 – 30.
Motorists should plan for three major traffic changes. They include:
• The ramp from westbound Highway 10 to the east junction of County Road 31/South Division Street will close permanently beginning Tuesday. Motorists travelling westbound Highway 10 may access County Road 31/South Division Street using westbound County Road 2/East Main Street, located one mile farther west on Highway 10;
• Westbound Highway 10 between 115th Street and the west junction of County Road 31/South Division Street will be intermittently reduced to a single lane from sunrise to sunset during non-rush hours; and
• County Road 21/25th Avenue Northwest near County Road 2 will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers controlling traffic Wednesday, before being temporarily closed later in the week. A signed detour will follow Highway 10 and County Road 40/155th Street. County Road 21/25th Street Northwest will reopen by mid-September. Get detour map.
Motorists navigating Highway 10 and local roads in Rice should slow down, watch for slow-moving heavy equipment and prepare to stop as they approach the Highway 10/County Road 2 work zones.
The closures mark the beginning of major roadwork as part of the new Highway 10/County Road 2 interchange project in Rice. When complete, the project will increase safety and mobility in the area.
