LF man sentenced to 45 days and five years probation for felony

Brandon David Plante, 18, Fort Ripley, was sentenced to 45 days in jail and five years probation in the Morrison County District Court Wednesday, for felony aiding and abetting criminal damage to property in the first degree.

On Jan. 20, officers in Little Falls responded to a property damage complaint. The resident of the rental property told them that while she was away from Jan. 18 – 19, she had given permission for a number of individuals to be in her home. When she returned, she discovered numerous holes which had been kicked and/or punched into the drywall and doors, plus there were holes created with a knife in the living room walls. Damages were estimated at more than $1,100.

Plante and three other minors were at the residence. Two minors indicated they had observed or aided Plante in doing the damage.

Plante pleaded guilty as charged June 17. The property owner has 30 days to claim restitution for the damages.
