New public access program for kids to air Saturdays

Beginning Saturday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. and every Saturday at same time thereafter, a show called “All Things Natural/Kid Talk” will air on local access television Channel 6 in Little Falls.

The first two episodes will feature Linda Peck, state and federally-certified wildlife rehabilitator from Rockville. Her work involves all types of wildlife rehabilitation including birds and mammals. She is a tireless advocate for all of nature. Peck will demonstrate how important it is for the public to contact a wildlife rehabilitator if they find injured or abandoned creatures. In the first episode, kids can see her preparing the worms to feed baby blackbirds, baby raccoons, two recently rescued horses and her educational raptors — a red tailed hawk, a barred owl and a great horned owl. Peck explains how important it is to preserve lands for these creatures future survival and emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in this effort.

The second episode that will air Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. will feature her efforts with eagles at Eagle Park a few miles from her home. Kids can visit this unique park with their parents, climb on the boulders and observe the eagles nest with young baby eagle’s in it. They can also interract with a friendly herd of dairy cattle that peacefully graze in the corral adjacent to that park.

This new series will feature a wide variety of delights for children with educational topics.
