Last year, after a 10-year stretch, the Pierz Community Picnic held the evening of Pierz Crazy Days, didn’t occur.
But this year, the Steve and Cheri Boser family decided they’d like to revive the event. Alyssa Boser, a new graduate from Pierz Healy High, decided to take the lead this summer, as part of a National Honor Society project.
Alyssa has done the legwork getting donations of food and door prizes from throughout the community and recruited friends and other families to help put on the event.
The event will once again be held the day of Pierz Crazy Days, Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Pierz Park. The picnic is open to residents living in the Pierz School District. While there is no charge for the picnic, guests are asked to bring a food shelf item to help restock the Pierz Food Shelf.
To volunteer or to donate to the picnic, call Cheri at (320) 630-1106 or Alyssa at (320) 248-4199.
