Woman sentenced to 70 days in jail, wanted in other counties

Talia Rae Hoffman, 22, was sentenced Wednesday to 70 days in jail after pleading guilty to giving a false name to a police officer, a gross misdemeanor offense.

Hoffman admitted giving officers the name of a cousin, when her vehicle was stopped by law enforcement in May.

A controlled substance crime in the fifth degree was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Hoffman is pending on a criminal vehicular homicide in Stearns County and is wanted on felony warrants from Todd and Douglas counties.

Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich said, “The agreement was made to allow the other counties to house her in their jails as she faces far more serious felonies in the other counties.”
