LF 18U softball closes season

The Little Falls 18U softball team closed its summer season by splitting a pair of games.

Little Falls 10, SC Apollo 6

Little Falls scored five runs in the first and three in the third to build an 8-1 lead, then held off host St. Cloud Apollo down the stretch to earn a 10-6 win, July 23.

Sam Jendro went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI to lead Little Falls offensively, with Katie Stewart and Marissa Virnig also recording multi-hit games.

Kendra Pohlman earned the win pitching.

 

Paynesville 15, Little Falls 5

Paynesville broke open a 5-5 tie with a 10-run fifth inning, topping host Little Falls 15-5, July 16.

Sierra Virnig went 2-for-3 with a triple, run scored and two RBIs to lead Little Falls.

Abby Thoma went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI and Tristen Zimmerman singled, stole a base and scored.
