Carl F. Leidenfrost, a resident of Buckman, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Aug. 23 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman, with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.
Carl F. Leidenfrost was born Jan. 15, 1931, in Agram Township, to the late Fred and Angela (Kippley) Leidenfrost. Carl attended and graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Jeanette “Neddie” Boser, Aug. 26, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple farmed together all their lives until moving to Buckman in 2004. Carl enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, hunting, vacationing and spending time with his family. Carl served on the St. Michael’s School Board, Buckman Creamery Board and the St. Michael’s Parish Council and ushered at St. Michael’s Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid Society and lifelong member of the Farmers Union.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanette “Neddie” Leidenfrost of 55 years; children, Carla (Ralph) Hanneken of Buckman, Carrie (Dave) Hoffman of Rogers, Janice (Rick) Stang of Maple Grove, Bob (Lisa) Leidenfrost of Buckman, Julie (Tom) Kummet of Pierz and Kay (Tim) Pappenfus of Buckman; grandchildren, Lynn Gunderson, Jill Scott, Derek and Brandon Hoffman, Angela, Steven and Michael Stang, Zachary, Dyla, Abby and Matthew Kummet, Will and Mason Pappenfus, Benjamin and Emily Leidenfrost; great-grandchildren, Alli Hanneken, Lucas Scott, Hattie and Brantley Gunderson; siblings, Herb Leidenfrost of Little Falls, Leon (Josie) Leidenfrost of Pierz and Clara Zimny of Royalton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Angela Leidenfrost; brother, Alvin Leidenfrost and a sister, Rita Streasick.
