A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Aug. 15, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus with Fr. John Odero officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date.
Joseph Donald Schneider was born June 13, 1963, in Little Falls to Kathern (DeRosier) and Leo Schneider. Joe worked construction doing concrete working, drove semi and worked auto mechanics. He also did various farm labor, wood work and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and giving those he loved a hard time and joking around. Joseph suffered from Primary Biliary Cirrhosis for 15 years and was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer this spring.
Survivors include his mother, Kathern Schneider (Harvey Flaming) of Little Falls; his three children, Alicia (Eric Przybilla) of Rice, Ashley of St. Cloud and Jasper of Bowlus; his five siblings, Matthew (Debra) Schneider of Swanville, Allan Schneider of Little Falls, Nicholas Schneider of Long Prairie, Lola (Rodney) Lilga of Little Falls and Becky Schneider of Pierz; 11 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Leo Schneider; infant brother, Sidney; grandparents, Henry and Mary Schneider and Thomas and Philomene DeRosier and a nephew, Joshua.
Casketbearers were Allan Schneider, Rodney Lilga, Steve Hedman, Bradley Sowada, Bryan Sowada and Galen Wilczek.
