Ella M. Moran, 86

obit-Moran-EElla M. Moran, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Aug. 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial took place in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery.

Ella Richner Moran was born March 31, 1927, in Little Falls, to the late Alfred and Eva (Young) Richner. She grew up in Little Falls and attended Country School in District #16. Ella was united in marriage to Richard Moran, April 23, 1946, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Little Falls. She worked part-time alongside her husband for many years at the Little Falls Ballroom and the Oaks Supper Club. Ella enjoyed her flowers, embroidering and playing cards with family and friends. She took great pride in being a housewife and mother to her children. Ella gave her time graciously volunteering at St. Otto’s Care Center, Lutheran Care Center and the Little Falls VFW. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Ella is survived by her sons, Ron (Nicky) Moran of Charlotte, N.C. and Jim (Liz) Moran of Minneapolis; daughters, Judy (Jerry) Jensen of Ham Lake and Patty (Scott) Olson of Bloomington; brother, Howard Richner of Little Falls; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Moran; parents, Alfred and Eva Richner; brothers, Alfred Jr. and Harvey Richner; sisters, Ethel Weiss, Evelyn Vernig, Edith Olson, Louise Wood, and Mary Lou Garretson; and infant children, Robert, Sharon and Richard Moran.
