Avon man sentenced to 45 months for weapons and fleeing charges

Jesse Lee Kirschman, 32, Avon, was sentenced Monday morning in Morrison County District Court in Little Falls to 45 months in prison following his convictions for ineligible person possessing firearm and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

Kirschman pleaded guilty July 18 in a case which stems from a February 2012 traffic stop, during which a loaded handgun was found in the vehicle. Kirschman was a convicted felon and ineligible to possess a firearm. Kirschman was sentenced to 45 months in prison for that crime.

Kirschman also pleaded guilty to fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a crime which occurred Jan. 16, and ended when Kirschman drove into a frozen swamp. Kirschman was sentenced to 17 months in prison for the fleeing conviction. The two sentences will be served concurrently.
