Fed up with destruction of U.S.

To the Editor:

When you look into your mirror, what do you see? Are you proud of the person looking back at you? Are you fed up with what has happened the last few years or so to our country?

How many more of our rights and tradtions must be destroyed before you will stand up and be counted? Just what will it take for you to work to restore our country to the God-fearing and patriotic country it was?

When we can condone the murder of the unborn, the destruction of patriotism, the moral decay of our society, the abuse of the freedoms to please the desires of the minority, it leads to the destruction of everything America has stood for. Do you really want your children to grow up and live in this kind of society?

Of course with the the new marriage law, we won’t have to worry about children. — Lester Shaffer, Little Falls

  • Clifton Evans

As to worrying about children, I just sort of figured the same sex couples would adopt some of the many children abandoned by their ‘traditional’ parents. A win for everyone. And yes, I do want my children and grandchildren to live in a society free from hate.

“the abuse of the freedoms to please the desires of the minority”

When a “minority” seeks to enjoy the same freedoms you do, you call it an “abuse” of freedoms? Freedom, like love, is not a finite resource. When one person gets some that does not mean that someone else gets less. You have the same freedom to marry whomever you choose today, just as you did two months ago. You’ve lost nothing.

When I look in the mirror, I see someone who looks similar to everyone else in Little Falls. I’m very happy about the efforts that I’ve made to make it possible for everyone to have the same rights. Not only am I not worried about the children who are members of our community, I see them as our hope for the future. They seem to focus on people’s similarities, not their differences.

    U.S. Road to Babylon

    In response to Shaffer’s
editorial comment “Fed up with destruction of U.S.” I must agree
with Shaffer’s point of view on Americans losing ground in the moral
frontier. An example would be the legalization of gay marriage.
Twelve states have now legalized gay marriage and more are
    unfortunately sure to follow.

As a Christian American it is
hard to watch my country being handed to hell in a hand basket. Gay
marriage is just one of many factors leading America toward becoming
the next Babylon. We have a leader who believes the best defense is a
strong, and debt increasing offense. President Obama spent millions
of dollars just on congress alone taking a stance on Syrian
intervention. This could have been paying off our trillion dollar
debt Improving our home land. This is now being spent on congress’s
inability to take action while spending money on military equipment
for a war we may not even engage.

    Shaffer responds“How many more
of our rights and traditions must be destroyed before you will stand
up and be counted? Just what will it take for you to work to restore
our country to the God-fearing and patriotic country it was.”. This
powerful statement is from a man who utilizes a christian stance
against unpatriotic infidels that now occupy our country. Christians
have a duty to bring people to Christ, I would like to see Americans
take part in this crucial step. Make me proud to be an American –
