Motley woman charged with issuing dishonored checks

Jamie Marie Kreiner, 24, Motley, was charged Aug. 16, in Morrison County District Court, with one felony count of issuing dishonored checks.

On July 3, the owner of a Lincoln gas station told a Morrison County Sheriff’s investigator that Kreiner had allegedly written 18 checks to the business, purchasing gas, groceries and other items between April and May. The 18 checks, totalling $2,031.94, were returned as having non-sufficient funds.

The owner allegedly sent Kreiner a notice and demand for payment June 21, with no response.

The investigator met with Kreiner and she allegedly acknowledged making multiple purchases from the Lincoln store, knowing she was overdrawn.

If convicted, Kreiner faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
