Chad Kenneth Boser, 36, Pierz, was charged Aug. 16, in the Morrison County District Court, with one felony count of check forgery.
On June 18, an investigator met with Boser’s ex-wife who said Boser had received two checks totalling $3,900 which were written out in both their names and were for their foreclosed home.
She allegedly told officers her name had been forged and she believed Boser had cashed the checks at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Pierz and kept all the money.
The investigator also spoke with a minor who allegedly admitted Boser had asked her to sign the victim’s name on the two checks. She said she accompanied Boser to the bank.
If convicted, Boser faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
