A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Aug. 29, at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg with the Rev. Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Bea was born Oct. 4, 1950, in St. Cloud, to Andrew and Loretta (Kiffmeyer) Gohman. She graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral in 1969 and went on to receive her nursing degree. She married Mike Schmidtbauer, Jan. 12, 1974, and they made their home in Luxemburg. Bea worked at Talahi Care Center as a nurse for 44 years and touched the lives of many including both residents and coworkers. She was past president and secretary of the St. Wendelin’s Christian Women. Bea loved everything to do with gardening but especially harvesting and canning. Her greatest joy in life came from her family and particularly her grandchildren. She will be extremely missed by all.
Bea leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Mike; her three sons, Jason (Becky) of Golden Valley, John of Luxemburg and Jeff (Stacy) of Royalton; five grandchildren, Corrin, Carter, Macayla, Sean and Spencer; two brothers, Jim (Linda) Gohman and Ken (Kathy) Gohman; and sister-in-law, Sharon Gohman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one step-brother, Donald Gohman.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Coborn Cancer Center, especially Michelle and Ashley, and to St. Cloud Hospital Hospice, especially Dawn and Molly, for all the help and consoling they did for them. Also thank you to the staff at Talahi Care Center for all the moral support they gave to the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials sent to the Coborn Cancer Center or St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.
