Central Minnesota Volleyball: Pierz, Holdingford sweep openers

Senior Bridget Bednar delivered 19 kills, eight digs and six blocks to power visiting Pierz past Aitkin 25-20, 25-22, 25-14 in Tuesday’s season opener.

Senior Tiara Hopkins followed with seven kills and junior Raychel Virnig had five, with junior Jessica Hawks passing out 31 set assists.

Virnig also had a team-high 10 digs.

 

Huskers flatten Falcons

Holdingford easily disposed of host Foley in Tuesday’s season opener, sweeping the Falcons 25-18, 25-15, 25-16.

Sophomore Summer Storm planted seven kills for the Huskers, with senior Anna Warzecha recording 13 set assists and senior Madison Vogt making nine digs.
