Cross Country: Sowada, Moore lead Little Falls boys to second at Brainerd

Senior Sebastian Sowada (17:09.1) took third and freshman Tyler Moore (17:11.6) placed fourth to lead the Little Falls boys to a runner-up finish in its season opener at Brainerd, Friday.

Seniors Mathew Massmann (17:31.5), Cameron Smith (17:40.2) and Daniel Mushel (18:51.8) rounded out the scoring for Little Falls with top-20 efforts, followed by sophomore Jacob Massmann (18:53.0) and junior Joshua Kapsner (18:53.5).

On the girls side, the Flyers were led to a fourth-place finish by eighth-grader Anna McNamara, who took 13th individually in 16:54.7.

Rounding out the Little Falls lineup were senior Vanessa Meschke (17:08.3), junior Heidi Moe (17:54.8), sophomore Amelia Kresha (18:24.4), freshman Ashley Hastings (18:37.9) and sophomores Linzee Gerads (19:06.2) and Claire Gammon-Deering (20:01.5).

Next up for Little Falls is a meet at Detroit Lakes, Thursday.
