Area Soccer: Little Falls girls shut out St. John’s Prep, Infinger leads boys over Becker

Little Falls girls 5, St. John’s Prep 0

The Little Falls senior class earned its first ever win over host St. John’s Prep, Thursday, shutting out the Johnnies 5-0.

Marissa Virnig, Rachelle LeBlanc, Danielle Moran, Kirsten Welinski and Chelsea Moran all scored goals for the Flyers, who outshot St. John’s 24-5.

Lauren Thielman stopped all five shots she faced in net for the shutout victory.

 

Little Falls boys 2, Becker 1

Senior Tim Infinger buried a pair of rebounds to lift Little Falls over visiting Becker 2-1, Thursday.

Infinger’s first scoring strike came after a shot by eighth-grader Sam Beam deflected near the net, with his second goal coming after a cross by senior Tucker Brastad rebounded off of the Becker goalkeeper.

Becker’s lone goal came on a penalty kick, with freshman Michael Hanowski stopping the remaining 12 shots to earn the win in goal.
