Verona Quinn, a resident of Hopkins, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at the Chapel View Nursing Home, Hopkin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Morrill, with the Rev. Leo Moendedick officiating. Burial was in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Verona Quinn was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Lake Linden, Mich. to William and Elizabeth Gagnon. She married John Wilson McCarty, May 12, 1937. John was killed in a construction accident May 20, 1948. Verona married Charles Quinn Sept. 20, 1950. and they moved to a farm near Morrill in October of 1953.
Charles preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1983. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and active in the St. Josephs Christian Mothers. Verona sold the farm in 1997 and moved to Hopkins.
She is survived by her son and daughters; Raymond (Jane) McCarty, Minnetonka; Loretta McCarty, Gilroy, Calif.; Roberta (Allen) Briggs, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her husbands, John McCarty and Charles Quinn; son, Irving (Roslyn) McCarty and daughter, Valerie (David) Marshik.
