Habitat for Humanity will ‘Hammer the Highway’ during annual motorcycle ride

The ninth annual “Hammerin’ the Highway for Habitat” ride will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, starting and ending at the Red Rooster Bar and Grill in Genola. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the ride begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.

Riders can expect to see some beautiful scenery as the ride will take them past the mighty Mississippi, past the boyhood home of Charles A. Lindbergh and Lindbergh State Park, through native Minnesota white pine on Lake Alexander, past the gates of Camp Ripley, the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery and more.

Riders will return to the Red Rooster at approximately 5:30 p.m., where a pig roast meal, silent and live auction, raffle drawing, and live music round out the evening’s activities. Visit the website at www.Greater LakesBikeRide.com for additional information and to register.

Advance registration for the event is available online. All proceeds will go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Morrison County to help build more homes.
