The Morrison County Animal Humane Society (MCAHS) will host its sixth annual Bark-A-Thon fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. It will be held on Haven Road, north of Little Falls on the property of the Boomerang Bar. The event will be held rain or shine, but shelter will be available if inclement weather.
The event consists of a pledge driven dog walk that will take place at 10:30 a.m., but people can still participate even if they don’t have a dog. Pledge forms may be picked up at the shelter or downloaded off the website. Prizes will be awarded to the top three pledge earners. Pledge earners may also collect online donations or can make their own donation via the website www.givemn.razoo.com/story/Mcahs.
Other events include a pet costume contest, used book sale, quilt drawing, pet-themed garage sale, raffle drawing, bake sale and more. A look-alike contest for Boomerang Bar’s Basset Hound Willie will also take place.
Vendors representing a variety of businesses, including local and direct selling companies will be in attendance. Vendor space is still available. Christina Johnson Photography will be taking on-site fall and holiday photos that will benefit MCAHS. A lunch wagon will be on site with funds benefitting area homeless pets too.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will provide spay/neutering funds, medical care, facility improvements and care for the pets in the shelter’s care.
