Fleischhacker, Br. OSC
Roman was born near St. Martin, to Joseph A. and Ann E. (Gully) Fleischhacker, Aug. 9, 1923. He was educated in St. Martin School District 22 and at St. Johns in Collegeville, for high school and junior college. He joined the Crosier Order in the Novitiate at Hastings, Neb., in 1948, and made first profession of vows on March 19, 1949.
Survived by siblings Sr. Emerentia, OSB, Ralph (AnnaMae), Ardwin, Merwyn (Rita), Richard (Eileen), and Fr. John, OSC, and his Crosier confreres. Roman was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters-in-law Clotilda, Doreen, and LuAnn.
Br. Roman was the Director of the Crosier Apostolate donor program for the Onamia Priory for many years, and in this ministry he became familiar with many generous benefactors and friends of the Crosiers around Central Minnesota and beyond. He was also involved in the Crosier Mission Office and served as the Alumni Director for Crosier Seminary for many years. He was also very involved in the TEC and Koinonia programs in the Diocese of St. Cloud and managed a Catholic book store at the Priory in Hastings some of this years there.
A Reception of the Body took place at the Crosier Priory church in Onamia, Thursday, Sept. 19 with the Office of the Dead. Burial was in the Priory cemetery.
