Henry Hank Boeddeker, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with Pastor Gary Hendrickson officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Henry, the youngest of 14 children, was born Nov. 17, 1931, to Henry and Florence (Laubersheimer) Boeddeker in Halstad. He attended Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston and then acquired his teaching degree at Mayville State University after serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. In June of 1960, Henry was united in marriage to Marilyn Jahnke and they made their home in Hillsboro, N.D. before moving to Henning and finally to Little Falls. Henry obtained his master’s degree at St. Cloud State University and was librarian/media center technical coordinator in the Little Falls Community Middle School for many years prior to retirement. He enjoyed with a great passion gardening, reading, family gatherings and spending his winters in Arizona, along with traveling all over the world with Marilyn and close relatives. He was active in the Zion Lutheran Church Choir, a volunteer at Linden Hills, and a driver for the home delivered Meals Program.
Henry is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Chad of Gilroy, Calif. and Adam (Rhonda) of Rockford; grandchildren, Brady and Kaylen; brother, Eugene (Gloria) of Mayville, N.D.; sisters, Marie Orvik of Ada and Lucille Gadberry of Clovis, Calif. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Shirley, Carol, Elenore and many nieces, nephews and other very near and dear relatives.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil, Bernard, Hubert, Wilfred and Cletus; sisters, Beatrice Bird, Cecelia Lusso, Otilda Anderson, Agathe Helmeke and Edith Sorum.
Honorary casketbearers were Brian Goering, Marvin Zastrow, Leonard Posch and Larry Hartvig. Casketbearers were Brady Boeddeker, Kaylen Boeddeker, Tony Boeddeker, Ordean Hegrenes, Harold (Hap) Johnson and Steve Pederson.
