Luella M. Roettger, a resident of rural Pierz, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at her home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with the Rev. Steve Priola officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Luella M Nacey, daughter of Minnie Marie Carlson and Edward H. Nacey, was born May 27, 1919, in Leola, S.D., McPherson County.
She leaves in passing a son, Alan W Roettger and a daughter, Sally L Schmitt; 10 loving grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta (Laurie) Otis of Washburn, Wash.; sister-in-law, Dolores Nacey of Houston, Texas; and many precious nieces and nephews.
Luella spent many working years in the financial world while raising her family. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour as a young woman and was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter A Roettger; grandsons, Gerad and Jerome Roettger; great-grandson, Brian Hiemenz; brothers, Ed Nacey, Bill Nacey and Elmer Nacey; sister, Marie Wallen; brothers-in-law, Bill Otis and Paul Wallen; and sister-in-law, Norma Nacey.
