Central Minnesota Volleyball: Pierz rallies past Eden Valley-Watkins

After narrowly dropping the first set, Pierz came back strong in the final three to dispatch host Eden Valley-Watkins 23-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-18, Thursday.

Seniors Bridget Bednar and Tiara Hopkins powered the Pioneers on the night, with Bednar recording 16 kills, 12 digs and four blocks and Hopkins providing eight kills and 10 digs.

Junior Jessica Hawks contributed 23 set assists and four service aces.

 

HLWW 3, Holdingford 0

It was technically a sweep, but Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HLWW) had to go beyond the norm in a pair of sets to knock off host Holdingford, Thursday, winning 27-25, 25-17, 35-33.

Sophomore Summer Storm hit 10 kills and had 10 digs for the Huskers and senior Anna Warzecha had 21 set assists.

Senior Jaryn Olson served seven points in a row to help the Huskers nearly pull out the first set.
