Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area (LPGE/USA) won three singles matches, but host Pierz swept doubles play to knock off the Thunder 4-3, Thursday.

The Pioneers picked up straight-set wins from its trio of doubles teams, including juniors Shelbie Boser and Kelsey Moulzolf at No. 1 doubles (6-3, 6-2), seniors Emily Okroi and Steph Brill at No. 2 doubles (7-6 [5], 6-1) and juniors Talyre Boser and Beth Oldakowski at No. 3 doubles (6-2, 6-2).

Senior Kiah Marschel secured the lone singles win the Pioneers required in the No. 1 singles match, winning 6-3, 6-1.

Sophomore McKenzie Barth cruised in the first set before holding on in the second to gain a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles for the Thunder.
