Cross Country: Royalton boys fourth, Pierz girls fifth at Sauk Centre

Junior Tremayne Collins earned sixth overall in 17:23 to pace the Royalton boys to fourth place at Tuesday’s Sauk Centre Invite, while the Pierz girls finished fifth.

Sophomore Ben Borash (18:16) followed in 19th place for the Royals boys, with junior Zach Carlson (18:48) taking 30th in his return to the lineup.

Freshmen Jordan Malikowski (19:20) and Thomas Strusz (20:38) also scored for the Royals.

Junior Kyle Becker led an incomplete Pierz boys team, taking 22nd in 18:23, trailed by sophomore Matt Janson (19:24) and senior Mitchell Czech (21:20).

In the girls race, juniors Maggie Gruber (17:12) and Arre Langer (17:53) and freshman Lilly Guck (18:24) all placed in the top 30 to lead Pierz, followed by junior Dana Hennen (19:14) and freshman Taryn Becker (19:57).

The Royalton girls finished eighth on the day, led by an 18th-place individual finish from freshman Emma Hoheisel (17:18).

Senior Ciara Kowalczyk (18:36), sophomore Madi Rudolph (18:53), freshman Chloe Novak (18:54), sophomore Breanna Sand (20:28) and freshman Sara Dubbin (28:14) rounded out the Royals’ lineup.
