Ronald Deering, a resident of Cushing, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
A funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 4, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, with Fr. Timothy Wenzel officiating. Interment was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls with military honors by Camp Ripley Honor Guard.
Ronald was born March 6, 1952, in Little Falls, the son of Sylvester and Ann (Matlock) Deering. He graduated from Little Falls High School, class of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Army, July 15, 1970, and was honorably discharged, June 25, 1976. Ron attended St. Cloud Vo-Tech where he received a mechanics degree. He was employed at Camp Ripley as a mechanic for many years. Ron lived all of his life in the Randall and Cushing areas. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting. He was a life-time member of the Randall V.F.W. Even though Ron kept to himself, he was well aware of the weddings and birthdays and many activities taking place in the family. It was very important to him that he keep up on family life. Ron entered into Gods loving arms and died in peace.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ann Deering of Little Falls; siblings, Sharon (Glenn) Harvey of Oak Grove, Carol (Harvey) Czech of Little Falls and Gordon Deering of Valley Center, Kans.; nephews, Bradley (Liz) Czech, Jonathan (Jenna) Czech, Stephen Harvey and Dominic Harvey; niece, Doreen Harvey; grandnieces, Gabriella and Katheryn Czech; and grandnephew, Brooks Czech.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Deering.
