Mike Fussy

Mike Fussy, 96, a resident of Bowlus, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at St. Ottos Care Center in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Oct. 2 at at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, with Father John Odero officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Bowlus American Legion Post provided military honors.
Mike Robert Fussy was born June 4, 1920, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, to the late Peter and Katherine (Weber) Fussy. He attended country school until the eighth grade. He served in the United States Army for two years. He was united in marriage to Cecilia Prokott, Sept. 25, 1956, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlu. The couple made their home in Swan River Township and farmed from 1946 until retiring in 1985. The couple moved to Bowlus,for their retirement years. Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening. Mike was a member of the Sobieski Creamery Board for 21 years. He was a member of the Bowlus American Legion, Little Falls VFW and the Knights of Columbus.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cecilia of Bowlus; children, Leo Fussy of St. Cloud, James Fussy of Little Falls, Patrick (Joann) Fussy of Little Falls, Ann (Pat) Maciej of Holdingford, Mary Fussy of St. Cloud, and Jeanette (Bruce) Barthel of Burtrum; siblings, Frances (John) Traczyk of New Hope and Agnes (Louis) Doucette of Cushing; grandchildren, Chris Fussy, Zachary Maciej, Stacy Fussy, Adam Maciej, Shawn Barthel, Alex Maciej, Tiffany Barthel and Travis Barthel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Katherine Fussy; siblings, Raymond Fussy, Verna Eisele, Elizabeth Sand, Balbina Solarz and Mary Niegorski.
Mike and his family would like to give a special thank you to the St.Ottos Care Center for the loving care they provided for him.
