Scherping has felony count of selling meth dismissed

On Oct. 1, in the Seventh Judicial District Court of Morrison County, Amanda Lynn Scherping, 23, Little Falls, had one felony count of third degree sale of narcotics dismissed.

In December 2012, a confidential informant (CI)told the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force that he/she could purchase methamphetamine from Scherping. The CI was told to make arrangements to do so.

The CI was provided with buy money and was observed getting into a vehicle. The CI later exited the vehicle and met with the investigator, handing him a baggie containing a white crystal-like substance. That substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Assistant County Attorney Michel Chisum said the case was dismissed because Scherping was already being sent to prison from another case out of Crow Wing County.
