Flying Aces split pair from Breezy Point

Led by a 37-save performance from goalie Jaxson Gosnell, the Minnesota Flying Aces junior hockey team topped visiting Breezy Point 2-1, Oct. 5, garnering a weekend split.

Anthony Martinez broke a scoreless tie in the final two minutes of the second period, then helped set up Eric Cruickshank for a goal early in the third. Breezy Point scored on the power play with 3:25 remaining, but failed to tie it up.

Breezy Point rallied from an early two-goal deficit to earn a 6-4 home win in the opening game of the series, Oct. 4. Jake Mullendore, Eric Rogorzenski, A.J. Gullickson and Blake Olinyk scored goals for the Aces, while Mike Stumpf made 45 saves in net.
