Football: Barnesville upends Upsala-Swanville Area in battle of unbeatens

Barnesville demonstrated why it has a now 40-game regular season winning streak, defeating visiting Upsala-Swanville Area 61-6 in a match-up of unbeaten teams, Friday.

Senior Mitch Lange ran the ball 20 times for 95 yards to lead the Patriots offensively, with sophomore Tim Valencia-Louden gaining 55 yards rushing while scoring the team’s lone touchdown.

Senior Aaron Miller had a sack and junior Jesse Goodell recovered a fumble on defense.

Barnesville entered the game ranked fifth in Class AA, with the Patriots ranked sixth in Class A.

Upsala-Swanville is scheduled to host United North Central, Friday, then will wrap up the regular season at Royalton, Wednesday.
