Holdingford continued its season-long dominance of the Central Minnesota Conference, Friday, going into Kimball Area and coming away with a 48-12 win.

If the game wasn’t over before it started, it was shortly thereafter, as Holdingford blitzed the overmatched Cubs for 27 points on four quick touchdowns in the first quarter.

Senior Mitch Messman found senior Cody Bialka on a 55-yard touchdown pass and ran for two scores in the opening quarter, with senior Jordan Gombos running for the first of his two touchdowns.

Senior Jeremy Springer hauled in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Messman coming out of halftime, with junior Matt Messman closing the scoring for Holdingford on a 75-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Mitch Messman finished 8-of-12 passing for 223 yards, with Gombos carrying the ball 11 times for 85 yards.

The fourth-ranked Huskers are now 6-0 on the year.

Holdingford is scheduled to host Maple Lake, Friday.

With a win, the Huskers would go for a perfect regular season versus Rockford Area, Wednesday.
