Football: Royalton breaks away from Browerville in second half

Royalton topped visiting Browerville 27-14, Friday, keeping the Royals in the hunt for the top seed in the Section 6A tournament.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the first two quarters, with Royalton scoring on a 28-yard run by junior Brady Moulzolf and a 2-yard plunge by senior Tony Gadacz, the latter coming just 17 seconds before halftime to tie the game at 14-14.

Royalton took its first lead early in the third as senior Cade Stang broke free on a 78-yard run, then sealed the victory on a 5-yard touchdown run by Gadacz with 3:41 to play.

The Royals only threw for one yard but pounded the Browerville defense with 457 yards rushing, led by Gadacz with 175 and Stang with 158.

Moulzolf and junior Austin Popp each intercepted a pass.
