Upsala-Swanville Area (USA) bounced back from its first defeat of the season with a sound 23-8 victory over visiting United North Central, Friday, just missing on a shutout at the end of the game.
The Patriots leaned heavily on senior running back Mitch Lange, who ran for 166 yards and the first two of the team’s three touchdowns on 32 carries.
With USA in control 15-0 early in the fourth quarter, it put the game away on an 87-yard catch and run touchdown pass from junior Tyler Evans to junior Jordan Sales, who also connected on a pair of two-point conversions.
Sales finished the night with six receptions for 115 yards while also making five solo tackles on defense.
Lange led the Patriots with eight solo tackles and six assists, with senior Aaron Miller and junior Aaron Ripplinger also in on six solo tackles apiece.
Junior Austin Johnson, sophomore Carter Loven and Evans all picked off passes.
