Rita Kroll, age 79, of Little Falls, formerly of Royalton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Cottonwood Group Home north of Little Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton,with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the hour of service at the church on Tuesday.
Rita Elizabeth Kroll was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Royalton, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Klisch) Kroll. Due to an illness at a very young age, Rita became mentally and physically challenged. At the age of nine, Rita became a ward of the State of Minnesota and lived in Faribault, Brainerd and in 1983 moved to Little Falls where she resided at the time of her death. Rita worked at Employment Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) in Little Falls where she met and made many friends. She also attended the Seniors Program associated with EEI where she enjoyed socializing with other participants. Rita enjoyed listening to music and singing along to the songs she knew so well.
Ritas family is forever grateful to all of her caregivers which include the staff at Lutheran Social Services and Employment Enterprises. Also, a thank you to all of her housemates over the years who became a second family to Rita.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Jerome Kroll of Royalton, James (Marcy) Kroll of Little Falls, Gilbert (Fe) Kroll of Glendale, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Louise Kroll of Coon Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Klisch) Kroll; sister Ann Kraus; brother, Lawrence Kroll; infant sister, Irene Kroll; and brother-in-law, Albert Kraus.
